As Christmas and the New Year approach, many families come together to celebrate warmth, safety, and hope. Yet for many refugee and stateless families in Portugal, this period is marked by uncertainty, financial hardship, and isolation.

At União de Refugiados em Portugal (UREP), we work directly with refugee, migrant, and stateless communities who face barriers to basic needs, documentation, housing, and social inclusion. Families — especially children — are often the most affected.

Why Your Support Matters Now

During the winter months, refugee and stateless families face increased challenges:

  • limited access to essential services,

  • unstable housing situations,

  • lack of legal documentation,

  • social isolation during the holiday period.

Your support allows UREP to provide:

  • emergency assistance and referrals,

  • guidance on documentation and legal navigation,

  • community support for families and children,

  • inclusion activities that reduce isolation and strengthen dignity.

A Small Act Can Make a Big Difference

This Christmas and New Year, we invite you to stand in solidarity with refugee and stateless families. Your contribution — no matter the amount — helps ensure that no family is left behind.

How to Support

👉 Donate via UREP’s Open Collective:
All contributions are managed transparently and used directly to support families and community-based initiatives.

Thank You for Standing With Us

At UREP, we believe that compassion, solidarity, and inclusion do not stop during the holidays. With your support, we can continue to protect dignity and hope for families who need it most.

From all of us at UREP, thank you — and we wish you a peaceful holiday season and a hopeful New Year.
