VOICIFY закликає до включення YREMASUD до Європейського парламенту

On 1 December, VOICIFY — the European Youth Network for Refugees, Migrants, Asylum Seekers, Undocumented and Stateless Youth (YREMASUD) — held an important meeting at the European Parliament with MEP Benni Scuderi to discuss the upcoming 2025 Report on Youth Participation and Inclusion in EU Decision-Making.

During the exchange, VOICIFY highlighted the urgent need to ensure that young people with lived experience of displacement are systematically included in all stages of EU policymaking. Rather than being consulted only at the final stages, YREMASUD youth must be recognised as essential partners helping shape Europe’s future.

Key points raised in the meeting included:

  • Strengthening EU mechanisms that guarantee meaningful and sustained participation of YREMASUD youth.

  • Improving access to long-term and flexible funding for refugee- and migrant-led youth organisations.

  • Ensuring political commitment to inclusive participation structures across EU institutions.

  • Placing lived experience at the centre of policies affecting displaced and stateless youth.

As VOICIFY emphasised, “Youth participation must go beyond consultation — it must become co-creation.”

This discussion marks a significant step toward building a more inclusive and representative Europe, where all young people, including those from refugee, migrant, asylum-seeking, undocumented and stateless backgrounds, have an active role in shaping the decisions that impact their lives.

UREP congratulates VOICIFY for its continued leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing youth inclusion across Europe..
